Gary has served as Senior Pastor of Stanley Park Baptist Church since 2017. He is passionate about faithfully preaching God’s Word, shepherding God’s people, and leading others into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Gary first sensed God’s call to ministry while serving at Stanley Park in 2002. He studied at Heritage Theological Seminary, McMaster Divinity College, and Conrad Grebel University College, earning a Master of Theological Studies. Ordained with the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec, he has served in Youth, Worship, and Associate roles before becoming Senior Pastor. Gary and his wife, Jennifer, who serves as the church’s Children’s Ministry Director, have two sons, Jonathan and Theodore. Together they are grateful to be part of what God is doing and consider it a joy and privilege to serve the church family alongside one another.
Peter Shultz

Pastor Peter has been attending SPBC since 2010, while attending Heritage College and Seminary; and graduating in 2019, he began serving on staff here at SPBC. After several years serving as the Youth Pastor, Peter is now the Pastor of Congregational Care. By connecting people to one another and to resources he helps to facilitate function in the body of Christ. He organizes a group of incredible volunteers who, through visits, phone calls, and emails, reaches out to the congregants so that all may be prayed for and receive care. Peter is married to his wife Amy and has one son. He enjoys going to the gym, playing board games, watching movies and discussing theology.
Alex Mitton
Associate Pastor Youth and Young Adults

Pastor Alex joined our team March of 2026 as our Associate Pastor of Youth and Next Generations. He graduated from Tyndale University with a Bachelors in Religious Education, and a minor in youth ministry. He has been working/interning in youth ministry for the past 6 years. Here at SPBC he is heading up our youth ministry, along with the young adults ministry. He felt called to youth ministry at age 14, has been trying his best follow it since then. He loves teaching, discipling and spending time with the youth of our church. He is passionate about coming along side youth, helping introduce them to faith in Christ, while helping them learn practices and disciplines that will set them up for a life time. He is married to his wife Camila, has two children, and is looking forward to growing his family. Outside of ministry he loves playing sports, going to the gym, fishing, hiking, spending time with family/friends, watching movies and playing games.

Jennifer stepped into the role of Children’s Ministry Director in September 2024. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English from Wilfrid Laurier University and completed the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec (CBOQ) Children and Family Ministry Certificate. She is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered environment where children and families can experience God’s love and grow in faith together. Jennifer is married to Gary, the Senior Pastor at Stanley Park Baptist Church, and together they have two teenage sons. She considers it a privilege to partner with parents in nurturing the faith of the next generation, and her prayer is that every child who comes through the doors of SPBC would know Jesus as Lord and Saviour and grow as a lifelong follower of Him. Outside of ministry, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, connecting with friends, and sharing a good cup of coffee!
